How to make an appointment

Penny Blomfield sees patients privately for an appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays in her Hobart rooms in Elizabeth Street. She consults in Launceston on alternate Fridays. If your appointment is very urgent she will sometimes see patients at other times.

Penny is a gynaecological oncologist and has trained in the treatment of woman with gynaecological cancers and premalignant gynaecological disease.  It may be necessary to give some patients preference for an earlier appointment because of this.  Penny will also see women with gynaecological problems unrelated to cancer and pre-cancer.

To make an appointment please contact Penny’s rooms directly.  If possible, fax or email your referral from your family doctor or referring specialist as well, so the appointment can be prioritised appropriately. After the appointment has been made, please supply the forms below either by fax or email, or by filling out the online form, selecting which room you will be attending.

In urgent cases and particularly for women with possible ascites (fluid in their abdomen) I encourage the referring doctor to ring me directly.

If you need to reschedule your appointment please call Penny’s rooms at least 24 hours before.

CONSENT TO COLLECT PATIENT INFORMATION

Medical care requires full knowledge of patient health information by all members of a medical team. To ensure quality and continuity of patient care, a patient’s health information has to be shared with other health care providers/diagnostic facilities from time to time. Some information about patients is also provided to Medicare, the National Cervical Screening Registry and private health funds if relevant, for billing and medical rebate purposes.
